David Lisk
IYC Co-Chair
David Lisk spent over 20 years in a corporate industrial setting primarily in marketing and business development roles. He has focused the last 15 years on assisting preschool children and their families as they prepared for their children to enter school, initially as the General Manager / Owner for a private childcare provider with locations in NC and SC.
During the last 11 years, he served as a Board Member and then as the Executive Director of York County First Steps. Through all the opportunities to learn and gain experience, the capacity to develop and grow collaborative relationships has been consistent in his career. The opportunity to work within communities to leverage these relationships to help our future generations reach their life’s potential is where he derives the greatest satisfaction. He works to use his business skills to advance the efforts of community organizations providing early interventions in the most effective manner.
David earned a BS Degree in Engineering from UNC at Charlotte with continuing education in Marketing and Business Relations from the University of Michigan. He has also received certification from Winthrop University in Non-Profit Management.
Sheila Wright, MSN, RN
IYC Co-Chair
Sheila Wright, MSN, RN is the Health Ministry Coordinator Mecklenburg and York Counties with the Faith Community Health Ministry of Atrium Health.
The Faith Community Health Ministry (FCHM) Department began at the time CMC-Northeast in 1997 partnering with faith communities in the Cabarrus, Rowan and Staley Counties. Because of its success Atrium Health expanded the program to include faith communities in Mecklenburg County in 2010 and now is located in 11 counties.
In her role as Health Ministry Coordinator, partnerships with faith communities are formed to help establish health ministries through a faith community nurse or health promoter model.
In these models, health promotion, education, spiritual care and health prevention is provided.
This year in 2020, Sheila celebrates her 19th year at Atrium Health.
She has over 37 years of nursing experience in various areas such as medical-surgical, orthopedics, utilization review, Medicare and Medicaid peer review and primary care physician nurse in an internal medicine practice.
She has her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Global Public Health and is a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor for the Adult and Youth version and a facilitator for Living Healthy with Chronic Pain workshop.
Ernest Brown
IYC Vice-Chair
Ernest Brown serves as the CEO for North Central Family Medical Centers in York and Chester Counties.
North Central Family Medicine, was charted in 1989 in Rock Hill, SC as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. The organization received federal funding as a community health center in September 1991. The current CEO, Ernest Brown, was hired by the Board of Directors on February 3, 1992, to start-up the new health center. The initial office was set up in the York County Health Department while space was rented and renovated in back of the old West End Elementary School on South Cherry Road. Working as a team, the CEO and Board of Directors went to work recruiting staff, purchasing furniture and equipment, and preparing to see its first patient on June 1, 1992, just four months after hiring the CEO.
Elizabeth Duda
IYC Secretary
Elizabeth (Liz) Duda is chair of Eat Smart Move More York County (ESMMYC) and works at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
ESMMYC is the local coalition of Eat Smart Move More South Carolina, with the vision of "a York County in which healthy eating and active living are essential to the everyday culture where we live, work, learn, pray and play." Liz is co-chair of the Bike/Ped Coalition of York County, with the mission of supporting York County becoming more bicycle and pedestrian friendly through education, advocacy, and promotion of the health, economic, environmental, and social benefits of bicycling and walking. Because of her passion for supporting children's health and wellness, Liz heads up the Tega Cay Healthy Kids efforts to shares ideas, recipes and activities for a healthier lifestyle for elementary and middle-school-age kids. Liz and her husband are active in their children's schools and coaching their sports teams. As Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation members, they are Tega Cay Marina site captains for the annual Lake Wylie Riversweep. Liz also is a member of the Tega Cay Lions Club. Liz has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA in Latin American Studies and Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
